My Favorite Summer Staples for Kids
I can’t believe we just celebrated Memorial Day and that summer is almost in full swing — these days are going by so fast (life with a newborn, right?)
I have to admit that I’m so happy to be done with the cold and dreary winter days. The summer weather in Denver has brought me and my fam such a nice change of pace recently. We’ve been spending lots of time playing at the park and going for walks and I’m excited to do even more of that as the season progresses.
I know many of you have little ones too, so I thought I’d write a quick post that includes all of my favorite summer staples for kids. These are all items that I’ve recently ordered or have used over the years, so they’re all #WhitSich-approved!
Regardless of what your summer plans might entail, I hope you and your family make the most of it!
Tubby Todd Sun Sets
I feel like I’ve tried all the sunscreens out there and can confirm that this one is the absolute best. We always have it on hand — even when it’s not summer! If you use my link to shop this set, you’ll get a discount!
Pop Up Sun Tent
This little outdoor tent is ideal for days spent at the park, on the beach, or even just in your own backyard. I can set up some fun activities and toys for Presley to play with while Bodie and I chill in the shade.
Striped Swimsuit
I ordered this pink swimsuit for Presley and she is totally obsessed with it (and all things pink right now). It has nearly 3,000 4.5-star reviews on Amazon!
Swim Trunks
This ice cream print is too adorable to pass up! It comes in a ton of different styles if you want to order a few different pairs.
Knock-Off Crocs
When you’re in and out of the house all summer, it’s nice to slip your kids into shoes that are easy to put on and take off. While these might not be the most aesthetically pleasing shoes, kids sure love them (and they seem to be really comfy!)
Baby and Toddler Sun Hat
I love that I could get Bodie and Presley matching sun hats for the summer. These are an absolute must when kids are running around in the heat all day. The brand makes them in sizes fit for newborns all the way up to 7 years.
Toss and Ball Set
Do any of you remember this game?! If you’re looking for something to coax your little ones outside, this ball catching set might do the trick. The paddles are made with velcro so the ball sticks to it when it’s tossed — such a fun challenge for kids who are learning how to catch.
Sand-Free Beach Towel
This might be the coolest, most innovative summer accessory I’ve come across so far. It’s a beach towel that’s made with material that’s quick-drying and sand resistant.
Hooded Towel
These hooded towels are perfect for wearing post-beach or post-bath. The bamboo cotton fabric is so soft and it comes in four cute colors.
Stroller Fan
If you don’t have a stroller fan yet, you need one! Trust me, your baby or toddler will thank you for it.
Beach Toy Set
I honestly would have never guessed that this silicone beach toy set was from Amazon. It’s made with such high quality and I love that it’s neutral. Your little one could always use it in the sandbox if you don’t live near the beach!
Baby Pool
It’s always the simple things that keep kids the most entertained. You can’t beat the excitement that will come from this $10 baby pool.
Toddler Swim Vest
We have one of these swim vests for Presley and have so much peace of mind when she’s around the water. It’s suitable for kids between 30 and 50 pounds and it comes in a handful of patterns and prints.
Toddler Sunglasses
You may have seen Presley wearing these adorable sunnies in some of my Instagram posts. If you have trouble getting your child to keep sunglasses on, these might be appealing since they come in fun shapes!
Ice Pop Mold
Is there anything more refreshing than an ice cold popsicle on a summer day? I love that these molds are perfectly sized for kids.
Native Shoes
Let me introduce you to the best park and beach shoes ever. They slip on easily but won’t fall off your child’s foot — the best of both worlds.
Kids Water Bottle
I swear that you can never have too many reusable water bottles on hand. This one is insulated so it keeps drinks super cold throughout the day.
Reusable Swim Diaper
I never thought I’d see the day when there was a swim diaper that was actually cute, but this one fits the bill!
Bento Lunch Box
If you’re sending your kiddo to summer camp, it’s a good idea to stock up on lunch boxes. We have been using these and love the quality.
Tubby Todd The Regulars Bundle
If you’re looking for some good bath staples for your baby, these products are my absolute faves! They’re very gentle on new, sensitive skin (and my link gives you a discount!)
The Tubby Hair Bundle
This is another one of my go-to sets from Tubby Todd — the products work magic on tangled hair from windy beach days (my link gives you a discount!)
